Commodore Special Editions

Despite opinions to the contrary from those who should perhaps know better, Holden's Commodore continues to be the number one selling vehicle in Australia. Not content to rest on its laurels, GMH has introduced a number of Special Edition models to keep the Commodore name in front of buyers.

The SS V Special Edition is based on the standard SS V-Series range and is being offered in the sedan, wagon and utility bodies. There is no extra charge for the SE equipment, making it particularly appealing to those who like standout styling.

The SS V-Series Special Edition, in all body types, is a dress up model that works beautifully. It has an aggressive twin-nostril front grille above a restyled lower splitter, as well as twin letter-box hood scoops. The sedan also has a boot spoiler and chrome highlight surrounds.

Colour choices are Phantom black, Red Hot and Voodoo blue.

The Special Editions will go on sale in November. However, the utility SS V Special Edition was the subject of a sneak preview, making its first public appearance at this year’s Deni Ute Muster during the October long weekend. The guys and gals with the utes were rapt in the appearance.

The Commodore International sedan and station wagon add something like $7500 worth of extra features (based on recommended retail price of extra features) and is based on the Commodore Omega. The International uses the radiator grille from the Berlina model and has 18-inch alloy wheels, leather seat trim and leather wrapping on the steering wheel, Bluetooth compatibility, and rear park assist (on the International sedan, as it is already standard on all Sportwagon models).

The recommended retail prices (RRP), not including dealer delivery or government charges, for the three SS V-Series Special Edition packs are carryover from the standard SS V-Series models and are as follows:
VE Ute SS V-Series Special Edition: $47,490 (manual), $49,490 (automatic)
VE Commodore sedan SS V-Series Special Edition: $55,290 (manual), $57,290 (automatic)
VE Sportwagon SS V-Series Special Edition: $57,290 (manual), $59,290 (automatic)

The driveaway pricing for the two International packs is as follows:
VE Commodore International Sedan: $35,990 (automatic)
VE Commodore International Sportwagon: $37,990 (automatic)
