| Honda Australia recorded its third best January in its forty year Australian history, selling a total of 5,013 units.
Honda’s market share bucked the industry trend and increased to 7.5 per cent, up from 7.3 per cent in January 2008.
Honda’s passenger car share also leapt to 10.4 per cent, up from 8.9 per cent.
Outstanding performers for the month included the all-new Honda Jazz, which eclipsed all brands in the light car segment to finish second to the Toyota Yaris.
2008 Wheels Car of the Year winner, the Honda Accord Euro, raised its share by 21.4 per cent over January 2008 and was Australia’s most popular fully imported medium sized car.

The 2008 Drive Car of the Year, the Honda Accord, recorded a massive 150.2 per cent increase and now commands 11.3 per cent of the large car segment.
Honda Australia Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Yasuhide Mizuno was pleased with the result and commented, "2009 has certainly started well for us. Our two award winning Accords have come out of the blocks strongly, while the Jazz continues to attract more and more customers every month".
January has also clearly confirmed the trend away from larger cars, with seven of the top ten sellers in the light or small segments.
